Digital Contact Sheets plus a pleasant surprise

In April year 2015, I lost my own permanent darkroom. Since then, my “wet” darkroom practice has been dormant, although I keep all the darkroom gadgets safe.

Darkroom is, of course, not only for making enlarged prints. Prior to enlarging, you process films and make contact sheets, which is very important for choosing frames to enlarge.

After losing darkroom, I have been viewing negatives and positives with loupe choosing frames to scan, which was much more challenging than looking through contact sheets.

So, I came up with an idea to scan the whole thing: digital contact sheets. Although flatbed scanner looks similar to proofing frame, I have never had the idea. I must be a slow learner.

With this method, I can also make contact sheets with positive film, which was definitely unavailable before. Such a fresh looking! I love this. A pleasant surprise! KT
