For no specific reason, I resumed photographing with film, picking up one of my film Leica Ms. I had purchased a roll of color negative film with current unfairly high price.
As a matter of fact, it is almost seamless switching between digital and film Leica M. Of course, battery, SD card, roll of film, film wind lever, etc. are not common between two. However, the whole camera operation is pretty consistent with both, which is great about Leica.
Since my eyes have been finely tuned for photography, I do not hesitate photographing things no matter whether digital or film I shoot with. For reasons, digital can be used just for “memo,” but I question that with film (it would become a “record”). Whereas I can photograph in a glimpse of time with digital, I would have to use a light meter prior to exposure with film, which actually works unexpectedly well.
Just a few-second practice with a light meter, but it clears up my mind before photographing. I like it. Sometimes, I prefer myself “non-automatic.” It is a joy. The craft of photography! KT
