Nowadays, due to the reason, I have been forced to look back my past decades in New York. Before my recently deceased dog, Dobby, there was the period of 2000s.
Honestly, the 2000s were not quite joyful period of time to me, mainly due to the shock of September 11th, 2001. The whole feeling of New York City was changed after that day. My personal photographic activity once stumbled completely, so to speak.
However, it was not coincidental that my photographic business was on the successful side during the time. My company, Tamkey Photo, LLC, was formed and set sail. I used to be quite energetic and eager to photograph professionally with my 4″x5″ camera.
During the 2000s, although there was a trend toward digital photography, film photography was still in a good shape. Photographing with 4″x5″ sheet film was, and is, a redundant process, but it was simply fun, especially by testing with now-discontinued Polaroid films.
Here, I would like to show some of the photographs from the 2000s. Hope you would enjoy, and see the difference of large format film photography back then. KT
