Happy New Year to all, who are kindly checking my Monologue. Many, many thanks to you. Always.
Now that I have been living in the City of Wonder in Asia (deliberately undisclosed, but it is somewhat apparent) for a year and half, as a “half-American and half-Japanese,” I encounter queer facts and phenomenons here. Let me to show an example:
I believe visual arts are basically supposed to be enjoyed by a “person.” The “person,” here I mean, is the entity who can feel and communicate independently from collective consensus. When you enjoy visual arts, “what you think personally” is critically important (I understand it is not easy, though). In here, such a “person” is hard to find. They all look for “what others think,” then they may say something.
I understand that collective consensus, for instance authority’s evaluation, may be helpful, but I don’t think you would have to buy it all. If you especially like a certain work of art, despite authority’s dismissal, you would have to proudly declare it, of course without losing respect to others. That is the “person.” I would like to see the one here. Respectfully. KT
