With my Leica M Monochrom, I had been using a leather wrist strap. I didn’t quite have a reason. Fashionable? Looks casual? Maybe I just wanted to try something “new” with my very first digital Leica M.
For decades I have been using neck strap for my film Leicas. It was included in the original box. Made of synthetic materials and very durable. I knew it is the “one.”
Recently, I noticed my leather wrist strap was getting thinner due to prolonged usage. I may need to replace it. But wait, did I love the wrist strap? One very drawback was that I couldn’t do anything else until I put the camera back in my bag. My right hand was completely taken by the camera. It was not very nice…
So, I put the neck strap on my Leica M Monochrom. The strap was originally on my M3 (gone) years ago. I think it is a good time to switch back to neck strap. I know one thing: It feels exactly the same as my film Leicas, and will last very, very long. Thank Buddha. KT
